1940 Plymouth P10

This 1940 Plymouth P10 two door sedan is the latest addition to my garage.

The car needs a complete restoration, but plans are currently in the works. Shortly after gas hit three bucks a gallon here in the Old Dominion, my 10 mpg daily driver suffered a shattered windshield and broken tail light in unrelated incidents. That combined with the fact that the truck needed brakes, had no air conditioning, and was costing me sixteen bucks a day to get to the office and back led me to an alternate plan. I yanked the rebuilt 360 out of the truck, along with the brake booster and rear end and set them in the corner of the garage where they will patiently await transplant into the P10. The truck's carcass was hauled off by a Mopar loving buddy who will put the remaining metal to good use.
I also acquired a wrecked Ram pickup with a blown 318 and good manual 4-speed transmission. I love to bang my own gears, so you can bet the stick will find its way behind the 360.

I'd like to keep the chassis traditional, so you won't find a Camaro or Volare subframe under this rod. The old Plymouth suspension is actually well designed and will remain. If the budget allows, some drop spindles and de-arched leafs may end up under the car to bring it closer to the pavement. Time will tell.

The interior will also remain close to stock with a bit of a hot rod flair. I haven't sorted out all of the details yet, but I promise this will be a pretty ride...if I ever get around to working on it!
